A Friend and I Put This Together, Worth It?

My Friend at I put this computer together, well not yet. but we could. For under $1000. Is it worth it? This is just to get me started, I will be upgrading it within the future and just want something basic. Or a bit above.BTE AMD Quad Core Phenom 9950 2.6Ghz

Kinda, but I doubt you'll need that sound card, seeing as a lot of motherboards have 5.1 built-in. And for under $1000, you should be able to fit in an 8800GT. And right now, Intel's CPUs are better; I think you should go for them instead.

You wont need a monitor if you have a HDTV handy, use DVI / HDMI convertor and that desktop will run great on a HDTV.Also for graphics go for the ATI HD487 512, its cheaper than the top range Nvidia cardand you can always buy another later on and go for crossfire
