Anyone got this mobo?? Apperantly if you run a SATA DVD Drive/Burner with a SATA HDD it causes a BSOD!! I fixed the problem by temporarly installing an IDE DVD Drive. Anyone know a solution to fix the SATA problem. This mobo seems to be full of problems!!Asus P5N-D SATA DVD-Drive Problem??
It seems to be a problem with the nvidia chipsets, at least 7 series. My gf's rig would BSOD half the time when opening the SATA DVD drive, we had a EVGA 780i in hers. We never could find any sort of help. So I ended up selling her board on ebay and buy an P35 board. What other problems are you having, I had my share with nforce motherboards. Do you also have the video corruption problem. My advise, unless you have SLI, get a non-nvidia based motherboard. I myself will never get one again.Asus P5N-D SATA DVD-Drive Problem??
Thats the problem, I do need SLI. I used to have an MSI P6N (nForce 650i) and it was really good, but I just upgraded most parts of my system:- An Intel Q9450 instead of an E6600- 2 x 9800GTX+ instead of a single 8800GT- Win Vista Ultimate 64Bit instead of 32-BitSo with the Q9450, the P6N is not good anymore. The installation of Vista just finished, so far the SATA Drive is the only problem, although the board has the two video cards very close to each other (any closer and there would be contact between them)!
