I'm building a PC, any advise is good. What do you think? I was aiming for around $1500 give or take $100. So I did alright there. anything you think I should switch out? or maybe downgrade to upgrade something else? I guess I really dont need Ultimate, CPU could always use better cooling too. updated my post.you saved me $51.00 =]
Try going for a non reference cooled HD4870 like this one, higher clocks and much better cooling.
Instead of the Q6600, get an E8500. Much better for today's games.Get Reaper DDR2-1150. It's only like 30 bucks for two, 1GB sticks. And if you want a full tower, just go with the Stacker 832. Great case, no tools required.

Going to OC it obviously. I changed from x2(2x2gb reapers)8GB to x2(2x1gb reapers)4GB (cheaper). MOBO only has 4 slots. *actually rethinking that desicion*and still thinking about the case. That one you mentioned is cool but sorta makes me realise how fcking huge Full Towers are. So I dunno yet.Saved now $155.01 from original cost
welcome on mid-range gmaing for 1280x1024. Tool Less Case Id take a antec 900 for non Quad fire / Tri sli set up
For Water-cooling + quad fire / Tri sli id take a thermtalke Armor anytime. quieter then antec and full tower size instead of medium
For You'r information having lot of hard Drive won't increase more then 3-4% gaming experiances max 10% with some unique game : Video card / cpu / ram is all what gamer should care and Ofcourse overclockign fore more fps.
E8500 to go. and if you seek best OC with guide id Get a
DFI X48 Dark Series less expensive then X48 Asus rampage formula %26 Work better it the ultimate of overclockign as i know
after it For unexperianced overclocker the Gigabyte PT6 Last models 350$ who second place in overclocking with is EAsy power managmenet %26 Software bios
If i was you with that money id build it pure gaming but if it more multi-media hard Drive a solution
like this mid-old pc 4600x2 76000GT will be used as multi-media pc when i done building my E8600 / X48 motherboard
With 2GB ram 800mhz i got a stack of 1GB roamign at 533mhz will put them back inside it. and switch my DDR2 to new system that will be 4870x2 / PSU HX1000WATS CORSAIR for 100$ more then 750X For Future rpoofing %26 Long Lifespawn
As well as modular PSU top of that il get a Thermtalke Armor Full tower To equip my System With a Great Case
And Put a 1920x1200 monitor when i found out which one the best suited for me ? 2ms ? 5ms. 1920x1200 For Gaming %26 smooth Viewing.
the Pc Part Will cost me self part 1500$ : The CASE %26 monitor will climb it to 2100$
how about a Thermaltake Armour+
LOVE that case
also the E8500 is nice
i would get 4GB, 8GB is a waste
but
you COULD, get a E8400 and if that saves enough money get 2x 4870's in Crossfire
do you really need blu ray??
for me, i already have a PS3 so i didnt get one in my computer
but Blu Ray drives are expensive, and you need a 24'' moniter for 1080P (full HD)
and at 24'' res (1920x1200) 2x 4870's will do you good
Yeah monitor of 1080P Cheal quality TN panel i heard is 299$ : BENQ : 430$-5004 good Qualtiy 24 inch
and you could maybe GET instead of 2x4870's A 4870x2. sometime less expensive and perform better

So I downgraded the blu-ray drive to dvd and upgraded the case to a Themaltake Armor case as you mention after taking a look at them. I think this build right now is pretty solid. Unless anyone else wants to share? lol =P
well
yeh without the blu ray drive
you can get a 22'' moniter or 24'' if you want
i still rekon with the money saved get a 4870X2 or 2x 4870's in Crossfire
