10/10 great build... im jealosu :@Final Computer Build: Please Rate/Advise
9/10if you went quad core 3.16, it would be a 10
All parts compatible.
I'd go with some better memory and instead of the 4870 X2, get a GX2.
The 4870 X2 actually does worse than the GX2 in some games like Crysis, or is right on par with it.
For the money, you could buy two GX2s and definately outpace it. But if you want to SLI them, you'd have to get another motherboard.
No thanks, I think I'll stick with with the 4870x2.Why better memory?
No, I do not believe I'll be getting a quad. Not worth it yet.
Well hey, if you want a 4870 X2, I could sell you my brand new one that I was going to return.
In any case, faster memory will of course give you better performance and allow you to overclock that E8500 more.
High-end DDR2 is pretty cheap. I got 4GB of OCZ Reaper DDR2-1150 for only 60USD.

9/10
9/10
What could be improved?-sigh- You know, I've been thinking of getting a Q9550, but I'm worried that come Nehalam and it'll be obsolete, not to mention that since most games don't even use quad core it'd just be a waste of money. That's why I figured I'd get the E8500, because it's good enough to give me good gaming performance and cheap enough that when Nehalem comes out or quads become more useful it can be easilly replaced. Not to mention by the time quads become heavily used in gaming they could be cheaper or superior.
Unless you have a pot of gold in your closet, computing doesn't get much better, also I would get a quad, but thats just me(the person who listens to music during casual games of CS cuz its fun to run and gun to good music lol
looks awesome dude. have fun with it!

Quad-core for folding, better speakers, Sammy LCD maybe, even then i don't like to give people 10s out of spite :P
