Not a big enough boost to justify buying a second, still needs work on drivers.my 2 3870x2 crossfirex results
Not a big enough boost to justify buying a second, still needs work on drivers.
true at the price the things are not that great
Your Q6600 @ 3.7GHz is probably a bottleneck for 4 gpu cores.
Well in the 3dmark not but in most games yeah i think, games need higher ghz not more than 2 clocks
Did you test any other games? Before and after FPS!
Your Q6600 @ 3.7GHz is probably a bottleneck for 4 gpu cores.
Perhaps in benchmarking but in real games that's not a worry by any means.
well i can play crysis everything veryhigh @ 1680x1050 but no AA and fps never dropped below 30
well i can play crysis everything veryhigh @ 1680x1050 but no AA and fps never dropped below 30
I assume you are trying DX10 very high.Well lower your standards a bit and run DX9 very high which looks very close(yes i know DX10 looks better) to the real deal and you will get much better FPS.:D
i could never lower my standards :D... ok I got a problem. I have 2 EK waterblocks for my cards and I bought 2 ASUS 3870x2 cards.. now 1 was messed up so I had to RMA it. Newegg sent me the other ASUS card back, the one with 4 DVI outputs which sucks because my EK waterblock won't fit on that card. Now my case is louder and hotter... but I don't want to wait to send it back again, plus this card is worth more with the 4 DVIs and dual fan option, I could just sell the waterblock. And I'm selling these in a couple months anyway for the r700.
Oh My God. . . You just don't know. I had an MSI 3870X2 and I put the EK waterblock on it before I tested it in my system. The card locked up like crazy and wouldn't go crossfirex. So I ordered an ASUS 3870X2 and tested it without the waterblock and it worked fine. so I removed it and installed the waterblock and bam, G-card went crazy again. I followed the instructions for installing the waterblock but now I have about $700.00 worth of paperweights. And you can't warranty the cards once you take the fans off. I took them outside and smashed them with a hammer. (2 3870X2's smashed into little bits)they were useless. the waterblock shorted them out. I guess I will try to sell the waterblock but at this point I think It'll get the hammer too. has anyone else had this happen to them when installing a waterblock on a graphics card? I know it is not my system. I have a spare 3870-standard(not X2) and I put it in and the computer runs great. that card is not watercooled and I am afraid to try to water cool another gcard, this is getting really expensive. I am 32 years old and a lisenced aircraft mechanic, I can follow instructions. Sorry for my attitude, just very frustrated.
