Quick question about video cards.

Hey all.First of all,I know very litle about computers, and came here to seek help.I want a video card,as I only have 128mb of on-board video.I also have P4 CPU running at 3.2 GHz if that matters, and I wanted to know what was the best video card I could get and get the most out of it with my CPU.Also, after installing it in my MoBo,do I hook the monitor in the motherboard?or in the video card? Thanks in advance. Quick question about video cards.
you probably have an AGP slots for discrete graphics so you can't buy the very latest cards as 4870 or 9800GTX but you can probably find an ATI radeon 3850 for these slots it's the most powerful card for AGP users. Google it and learn about it . There is also the X1950XT in an AGP from but BEWARE your CPU may bottleneck your cards and u better have a good enought power supply to handle these cards !Quick question about video cards.
Now the question is do you have AGP or Pci-E.
Alright,so I downloaded CPU-z and googled my Motherboard, and I have a free PCI-express x16 slot.I don't know about my powersupply though,is there software I can download and check it?or do I have to open up my case? Thanks for the help by the way.
Open your case and look at the psu label. But I tell you now that your psu isnt enough as with 98% of prebuilt psu's to use safely. Heres a good Psu and a descent Graphics card to use with your Pc. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2932371%26CatId=1079 -PSU $60 ($40 AR)http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3041060%26CatId=1560 -8600GT -$80 ($50 AR)
Get a 8800GT and a Corsair VX-450W for PSU.
