I have 4 GB right now, but there is a good sale on matching RAM. it's 60 bucks for 4 GB of dual channel OCZ RAM, so I'm wondering if I should. Would I see any performance increase at all?A point to 8 GB RAM??
4GB is more than enough for gaming. You won't notice a difference unless you're doing CAD, 3D animation, or something like that.A point to 8 GB RAM??
Depends what you do with your computer really. Although if you have to ask then no probably not :P
It could actually hinder performance when overclocking as that amount of RAM will put a lot of strain on the northbridge/memory controller. But if you're not after a big overclock and you've got the coin spare then sure, go ahead. You've got the 64bit OS to actually use it.
You could get up to 32 GB RAM, did you know? Wonder if you'd know the difference on that!
You could get up to 32 GB RAM, did you know? Wonder if you'd know the difference on that!
32gb on serverboards not the gaming ones, maximum for the user pc is 16gb and thats on a p45 motherboard .
Even with a 64-bit OS, 32-bit applications can't make use of the extra ram so it's useless unless you run large 64-bit apps or if have a ton of programs running at the same time (in whch case other components will show their limit)
I have 8, only because my Vista states that 23% of it is being used at any given time. Thats almost 2 gigs! EDIT: i had a big problem with my RAM on my old computer as well, so that may have contributed to me buying 8
The more ram you have, the more ram Windows will try to use. I also have a 23% usage with just 2 GB ram.
