Onboard Audio Help

I just got my new rig together and I'm getting everything set up today. came across a problem with the Soundmax Onboard HD Audio. I can't get my sound to work at all. I've updated the soundmax drivers and no luck. I've been goofing off with the soundmax wizard to set the speakers up, and when I click the test I get static coming out of the speakers, but no other sounds will come out. I have a logitech 5.1 speaker setup, but only my front 2 (L and R), Center, and Sub are in use. I matched up the colors and the names of the jack inputs to make sure I got the jacks in the right spot. Any help would be appreciated.
