How will i know my DVD-RW drive is about to die?

Topic^^Ive had it around 3 years and its been pretty solid. Ive been using it over the last couple years quite a bit for burning, infact ive burnt more than 100 discs with it.My question is, when will i know its had its time. Currently its giving me issues, once in a while it burns poorly and i try to use the disc, some of the files give Cyclic Redundancy, other times it doesnt copy from a freshly burnt Verbatim disc.So yeah, what can i do about it, i have a CD lense cleaner but that didnt help, will a DVD lense cleaner be much different? Or has the lense just simply had too much? How will i know my DVD-RW drive is about to die?
The drive will ethier stop burning certain types of discs like cd's or dvd or dvd dl's. And or stop reading discs it did once before. 100 discs is nothing when you do 300-500 a year thats alot :P How will i know my DVD-RW drive is about to die?
Also You will have bad batches of discs which the drive is going bad too.DVD writers are cheap. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106073

If you keep on getting bad burnt discs, cant read the ones you burnt on another computer than the drive is going bad. Does it read other discs fine?

No they do the same thing
Just get a new DVD-drive, Newegg sells very cheap and fast OEM Samsung DVD writers (the Best) for about 25 dollars.
Yea I'd just get a new one as they're ridiculously cheap, and switch to sata if you haven't already. By the time you finish messing around buying cleaners and making coasters, you'd spend close to the amount of a new drive and give yourself a headache.
Okay fair enough, i guess its had its time, one question, can somebody suggest some brands. I live in the UK so my only sites are www.ebuyer.co.uk and www.scan.co.uk
TDK, Plextor, Samsung, and I guess LG.
