I just put together a new computer from a barebones package I purchased online. After installing my RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134606), I ran CPU-Z and it shows my DRAM frequency at 134.7 mhz in dual channel mode. The FSB is running at the same speed (quad core) even though the motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130184) says it can run at 1600(O.C)/1333MHz. Why would this be happening? Is there something I have to change to get the full power from my RAM?FSB + RAM question
It sounds like it could be a bios issue since you just put your computer together. Trying updating the bios, and if that doesn't work, you can try manually setting your RAM frequency.FSB + RAM question
Ugh...was hoping to avoid touching the BIOS since I know nothing about it. I guess I'm not gonna have a choice but to figure it out. Thanks for the answer.

Just go to motherboard company's website and download the bios update for your particular motherboard.
I actually just got done spending the last couple of hours figuring it out. Went in and changed the FSB to 333 instead of the 134.7 it was set at and now everything looks good. Just didnt like that my windows experience index was saying my RAM was at 4.3 and CPU was 5.0.....now everything is 5.9. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
