This is the motherboard I'm getting:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188024
Under the specifications, it says ''Memory Standard = DDR2 800''. Does this mean that I can only use RAM that is DDR2 800 or will it be able to run DDR2 1066. I'll be getting Corsair Dominator 2 X 2GB DDR2 1066 here's the link:

Thanks for any and all help. Will my motherboard run DDR2 1066 or just DDR2 800?
You can try it, but its probably not reccommended, since it will be unstable unless u get it to you under the right voltages, etc. Get DDR2 800 memory instead. Unless the motherboard says it supports DDR2 1066 ( which yours doesn't) then forget it. It is backwards compatible with DDR2 667, and the slower DDR2 memory, but only a person in a wrong state of mind would actually get slower ram. Will my motherboard run DDR2 1066 or just DDR2 800?
Well, I found the older model, the 750i, and it says that it supports DDR2 1066, so I'll be getting it instead, and it saves me $60 so win-win for me.
lol its not as good as the 780i chipset, but it should work for ya.
DDR2 800 is great R.A.M. I'd go with the x38 or x48 boards, but to each is own
OK..now that lol scares me. Are the 750i ones bad? Also, I found this site:http://www.evga.com/articles/385.aspAt the bottom, is says that it will support up to DDR2 1200. What am I missing here?
Have a look at this, it's from the EVGA websitehttp://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache:_uGX3NZjUk0J:www.evga.com/support/mbmem/+EVGA+780i+1066+memory%26hl=en%26ct=clnk%26cd=2%26gl=uk
Naw, that 780i board will not support anything higher than 800 DDR2. The motherboard will specify if it. With the 780i board, I dont think you can even overclock your RAM, or else it would indicate it as 1066 OC* I'd recommend getting another.
