Yeah the GTX EVAG(something like that) 260, but mine is XFX which seems different. In addition the answers are always either its better but its HOT, or they are the almost the same. Anyways I dont want to make a new topic, so I want to ask which is better?
Is A Quad Better, or a PhenomX4 for gaming? THey both seem to have High prices IMO

I don't think it matters a whole lot whether you go AMD over Intel, or vice versa, or Nvidia over ATI, or vice versa. If there is a performance gain in one, I can guarantee you it is so miniscule you wouldn't notice the difference. All the companies we're talking about here have good products right now. I think its really a win-win situation for us gamers.
I have a phenomx4 and a 9800GTX and let me tell you, it blows the socks right out from under me every time I turn on dx10 games like crysis. I play crysis in high def on high, and its AMAZING. No hiccups, nothing. It runs like freakin' butter in high def. I'd just go with the company you've had the most success with.

are you saying that PhenomX4 is better then Quad, as I do not know? Although it sound as you are saying that
what he is saying is that in the pc gaming community people are VERY loyal to the manufacturers they like, Iv always been an Intel/Ati guy just as others are still trying to make their Phenom run as fast as my intel8) Your best bet is too look at different reviews and benchmarks online, there are some amazing sites like Tomshardware, hardwarecannuks ect, they will line up video cards, or even processors and benchmark them side by side. With regard to your card the company that is using the Nvidea chip is not as important, Xfx, BFG, Phy, Sapphire they are all very similar, some offer more ram, others overclock the cards ect, if you compare the Nvidia 260 GTX, and the Ati 4870 the 4870 wins.. not by much.. but I think its the better card.

But I probably would have been just as satisfied if I had purchased an Nvidia 260...can't go wrong either way. It may just come down to price.*+
google it online (gtx 260 vs hd 4870). there some website in which they've compared the performance between a GTX 260 and an HD 4870from what i've found out is that they're equally the same but the HD 4870 performed better on some games
The 4870 performs in between the 260 GTX and 280 GTX. It's better than the 260 GTX, but not by a massive margin.
The new GTX260 ;)
This link should help some in the comparison. GTX 260 has better stats but read some reviews for benchmarks before choosing and of course, price is a major consideration.GTX 260 vs. HD 4870
People Are still NOT answering my question. Well you are when it comes FIRST question, but only one comment was made about the second question. I want to know which is better Quad Core, or PhenomX4? At first I though they are the same but now I am just confused
IN terms actual details, don't waste your money yet. Wait until they release the new porcessors. Right now Intel rules all in terms of speed and power.AMD is kicking themselves for not listening to last years revenues, they ned to make thier processors at least past the 3.2ghz mark, soon. Yes, even for thier quad core. Get intel.
Intel seems to be the overall 'winner' in the processor market at the moment, but you can't really compare Quad Core to Phenom X4. There are a lot of different models, some are a lot better than others. The best thing to do would be to find a site which benchmarks many different processors. As for the GTX 260 vs. 4870, the 4870 probably wins in the benchmarks but it's worth rembering that at a time like this, benchmarks aren't everything - Nvidia has the physx physics engine running on their hardware now which could lead to speed ups in games which support it, as well as CUDA, which means there's likely to be a few non-gaming apps which will specifically use Nvidia cards for significant speed ups. Personally I'd go with the GTX 260.
