Power supply question with radeon 4850...

Hey everyone... haven't posted/lurcked here for a long time... My video card carped out (7600gt), I want to get a radeon 4850, but my power supply doesn't have any pci-e connectors... It has enough juice to power the card... Is getting one of those adapters that converts the molex to 6-pin a bad idea? Will it work? Id rather not have to replace my psu... but if i have to i guess i have to, lol.Power supply question with radeon 4850...
no it's not a bad idea. it's all good. most video cards usually comes with a power adapter.Power supply question with radeon 4850...
I would still recommend getting a PSU with PCI-E connectors. Newer graphics cards need it and it is highly recommended. I would say, bad idea, but it's possible. You might not get the performance you want though.
so you have enought AMPS on teh 12v rail?
Well I cant find how many amps is required... I have 18 amps, all I can find is the 6-pin connector needs to supply 75w. It seems I have enough, I will give it a try, if I have problems will get a new psu...
