Need help turning off WEP code

I'm trying to connect to my home network on my PS3 but I can't because I need to put in the WEP code. I've forgotten what the code was and can't figure out how to turn it off. Any help with turning it off would be appreciated. Thanks in acvance. Oh, and if it matters, I'm on Windows Vista.Need help turning off WEP code
you need to log in to ur router and reset the password. u might want to use WPA instead of WEP as it's more secured if ur router supports WPA.Need help turning off WEP code
Why on earth would you want to turn off the WEP key? Why on earth are you using WEP?Apparently someone is unfamiliar with what happens to people who use unsecured wireless networks.

Anyway, I'm just trying to chage the password so that I can hook it up to my PS3. I'm not really a computer geek either so try to descibe it as simply as possible.
It varies between manufacturers.....heck....it probably even varies between their models. It should be possible to reset your wireless router back to the factory settings. Check out the manual for the router. If you've lost it, try looking for it on the manufacturer's web site.

  • make sure the computer u r using is connected (wired) to the router.
  • if u still can't acces ur router, someone may have configured it before and changed the IP address of ur router
  • if u don't know who configured it and u need to change the password, your gonna have to reset ur router back to the original settings
  • there should be a small hole at the back of the router where u can use a paper clip to press that button in order to reset ur router back to the original
  • just remember that reseting it back will leave ur network open so u need to login to the router (from the steps above) and secure it (WEP, WPA, WPA2)
