Hey, guys, i have a friend that is building a new Rig, and could get a great deal on and 8800ultra for $199. now i know that there are newer and better cards out there and so dose he but, we would both like to know how it is compared to some of the other cards, out now. thanks.HOw is the 8800 ultra??
Get a HD 4850, it's cheaper and better. There is really no reason to get an 8800Ultra now, unless you can find it at an amazing price. $200 is too much for one IMO.HOw is the 8800 ultra??
tell how is 200 to much do you know what they are without a sale price and what not in Canada, it's $365.99. so maybe not, but I'll have him look into other cards, but also what for other opinions.

but isn't the 8800ultra better then the 9800GTX, maybe i got that confused with something else, hmmm, well, ratehn then see the 8800ultra, my buddy is also looking at the other high end cards, like the 4870, GTX 260 and 280, i would say he's looking at the 4870X2 but he dosen't like the dual GPU idea on single card.

No get a HD 4850, simple because it requires WAY less energey, doesnt spew out lots of heat. AND AA doesnt make a huge impact.
or you can get 2x 8800GT for 100 apiece, which will run circles around a single 8800ultra ;)
get that 8800ultra, 200 bucks for this card is an amazing price ... ATI has so much overheating issues that someone had to make a fix for it ... stick with nvidia.

And for 200 get a 4850 much better performance. by the way the only over heating cards i have had are nvidia
You can adjust your fan speed...
alright, thanks guy's all tell him, wat up, and see what he says.
You can have 9800GTX+.
Get the 8800 Ultra, its a tad better than the ATI 4850. And before you damn ATI fanboys and dolts that will bash me, check out this The 4850 is a cheaper choice, just make sure u get the latest drivers and fix the damn fan glitch that makes the video card overheat.9800 GTX+ is also simliar.
It doesn't overheat unless you have a POS case (I have a cheap case %26 it never overheated). I would either go for the 4850 or 9800gtx+ they are equal in power, but the 4850 requires only one 6pin pcie connector and only uses one slot(that can be a good or bad thing depending on the person)

My choice is ot get the 8800GT in SLI they are SUPER cheap and are practically the best graphics card setup for the price and the performance. I have one and belive me it is great, I get around 30FPS in Crysis on High or Very High

The ultra is a bit faster than the GTX, so you can get a grasp of the performance.
