I still want to be able to use my DDR3 Graphic cards and im a noob thefore dont know if i can run a ddr3 g-card on a ddr2 mobo?Lastly, Can i expect good quality if i use my 23'' HDTV 720p/1080i as a screen using HDMI DVI OR JUST DVI - DVIThank You Final predicted Gaming Rig Setup (feedback please)
wait till the new intel CPUs come out, they have a new CPU socket and require DDR3 as a must they also have USB3 and PCI-e 2.0Final predicted Gaming Rig Setup (feedback please)
Go with DDR2 and get a Q9550.
I'm no expert really so this is just my opion ok. I would think the gpu would work on a ddr2 mobo. Also what will this pc be used for cause far as I know games these days doen't do very well on quad core and ddr3 are really usless for right now.I'm in the process of building my own pc and this is what I plant to put in mine. A cpu: Intel core 2 duo e8400 3.0ghz wolfdalembo: Asus p5ql pro lga 775 intel p43 atx intel mobo I'm still unsure what os I want. Still am trying to figure out if vista is the way for me or notpsu: Rosewill stallion series rd550n-2sb-sl-bk- 550w any who it is crossfire and sli ready but this doesn't matter to me at the moment.Well this is most of it so far and to me at least it all looks nice. Just hope all of it is compatible with each other.
Its a gaming machine, ive done my research and the quad cores make a difference on present games and will be great for future games. Oh coure quads what really out do a proccess without great ghz eg 2.2 vs 2.8 but thats obviousIm NOT intrested in i7 or the new socket type. I dont see a huge advanatge of waiting, on a side note however I will not be getting this PC imediately, in 1 month or more so im happy for more feedback :-)Thank you

ok with my setup...the difference between DDR3 RAM (including motherboard support) is ?09So for ?09 is it worth doing DDR2 or DDR3?

I would stay with DDR2. Games have been using for a long time if I am correct. Or am I messing something??
Yes DDR2 seems to eb cheaper but now i got figuer out the best motherboard for the jobASUS?P5N-DASUS?P5N-T DELUXEASUS?Striker /Formula (Its like ?00 lol)And if im going DDR2 I can upgrade my CPUShould I stick with my 2.4 Quad Core or Upgrade to a 2.8
Your upgrading to much. Just leave it they way it is, but change it to DDR2
I'd say go for the DDR2 route since it's just stupid to go for DDR3 unless your future proofing or something. Also definately take that graphics card out and get something like an HD 4850/4870, because frankly your resolution is going to be puny on that TV. Heck, I bet you can max any game with an 8800 GT if you use the max resolution from that TV. With the money saved, I guess I would suggest a half decent monitor at least, and save up for any future upgrades.
Ok its clear to go down the DDR2 road and avoid the DDR3 RAM. However whats wrong with my graphics card?I will be rnning it off my 23'' because of space issues i cannot fit a screen into my room. Also im not making this PC myself im getting a site to crate it for me so the graphic card options are limited and for some reason i dont think the 8800 very on this list.
Which mobo also?It kinda the only disadvantage of building a PC using a website, you can only select what they stock.Im happy with all other options, just the motherboards and g-cards are not very varieASUS?P5N-DASUS?P5N-T DELUXEASUS?Striker /Formula
