Send them across your LAN.
USB stick FTW.
i would do that. but i have so much stuff i need transfered. that using cds would just be a waste of time
Send them across your LAN.
Share the folders on the old PC %26 copy them over your network...
now see thats exactly what ive been trying to do. but everytime i do i get a message saying : \\computer is not accesable.you may not have permision to use this network resource. and i dont know what to do about it
make sure they both have the same workgroup %26 IP range, to start with such asPC1:
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
workgroupPC2:
192.168.1.3
255.255.255.0
workgroup
okay. i know they're in the same workgroup. i can see them both under workgroup computers.and how do i set it ups to that they both have the sam ips and sub mask thing?
Go into the Control Panel, and into Networking. Change the TCP/IP Proprties and assign the IP adresses, or set tehm to DHCP, if you are on a router. The router should be handling all this in the 1st place.
Control Panel->Network Connections-> Right click on Local Area Connection and select properties-> then scroll for Internet Protocol and select it's properties.
ive found that and then what do i change that to?
