i have an Acer Aspire 5520 herehad a hankering to play starcraft so i just ran out to the store and bought a copyits not detecting the discits not autoplaying and windows explorer isnt detecting a disc in the drive it still thinks it's emptyi can hear it rev up when i put in the disc, then it revs down, then revs up again, then revs down - but ultimately nothing happensanyone have any ideas? it's not detecting any disc i put ini'll try a system restore in the mean time disc drive isn't reading discs now...
You might try booting off the drive... maybe your drive went bad.disc drive isn't reading discs now...
what do you mean boot off the drive?its not even installed yet it wont detec the disci think the drive and/or laser is broken
I mean put in a windows disc and see it boots/installs... But if windows is recognizing the drive your drive is probably just bad.
yeah its just reving up and down really hardwindows detects an optical drive it just cant read the disci've had this before on an old computerits just this Acer isnt even a year oldback to the shop i guess
