putting more RAM in a computer will speed it up??? cause my computer is slow and if i buy a new RAM stick for it will that speed things up??note that i currently have 1 gig of RAM but thats been in the computer since we got it which was 5 years agoanyone know if
Depends on your other specs and what you expect to run faster but generally speaking you can assume that adding ram to a 5-year old PC won't result in huge improvements.anyone know if
With 1GB of RAM already I wouldn't expect any serious performance gains. If your computer started off fast and has slowed down over the years it's time for some routine system maintenance, that's for sure.
There are several factors that have to be taken into facctor. Your computer may be slow because you have many processes in the background and that is sucking down the ram that you have. Adding would probably fix the problem, but then if you are like me and hate spending money on a 5 year old PC, you try to find ways arround it.
